On Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, the Milan Public Library hosted a travelling museum exhibit called: Behind Barbed Wire: Midwest POWs in Nazi Germany. 87 visitors came to the library to go through the bus. The bus had original art work by soldiers in camps as well as diaries, uniforms, books and other memorabilia. Many of their experiences were transcribed and posted all around the inside of the bus. It was very educational. Many of the area's veterans came to see the exhbit. From here the bus will be travelling all around Michigan and Ohio, ending the summer with visits to the public libraries of Chicago.
