I. Call to order at 7:00 p.m., Zawacki
Trustees present: Laurence Biederman, David DeKorte, Millard Phillips, Jeffrey Sabo, Mark Zawacki
Staff Present: Joyce Armitage (Interim Director), Nihal Riad (Reference Assistant / Technical Services)
Others Present: Marianne Hartzell and Joseph Mika from Hartzell-Mika Consulting LLC (HMC)
II. Public Comment: None
III. Meeting with representatives of HMC
The Milan Public Library Board of Trustees met with representatives of Hartzell-Mika Consulting LLC, a consulting, training and executive search firm that exclusively works with libraries. Ms. Hartzell and Mr. Mika presented the range of their services and discussed critical factors in the process of searching for a library director, including strategies for finding candidates, communicating with candidates, and interviewing and selecting candidates. The Board requested that HMC submit a service contract for formal approval at the next regular MPL Board of Trustees meeting. The Board also scheduled another special meeting with HMC on February 14, 2007 at 6:30 PM.
IV. Other Business
Interim Director Joyce Armitage noted the need for a revised policy for computer usage.
